Transfer of SAP ERP System of Nizhny Tagil Iron and Steel Works to a Unified SAP ERP EVRAZ system landscape
Project Objectives
- Development of a list of requirements for the NTMK SAP ERP system;
- Creation of the concept of IT projects at NTMK;
- assessment of existing processes, making decisions on further use or modification;
- identification of unused/outdated functions;
- development of design solutions for processes unique to the NTMK SAP ERP system;
- identification of business processes discrepancies at EVRAZ NTMK comparing to other assets of EVRAZ;
- development of scenarios for subsequent settings to transfer the existing functionality of material flow management in terms of MM, WMS, QM, LE and financial management, implemented in SAP ERP at NTMK into a single SAP ERP EVRAZ system.
The goal of the project is to increase the efficiency and transparency of business processes at Nizhniy Tagil Iron and Steel Works by integrating the existing SAP ERP system into the SAP ERP system landscape of EVRAZ, with elements of standardization and unification of business processes at EVRAZ NTMK with other enterprises of the group (Raspadskaya coal company, Kachkanar Mining and Processing Plant, West Siberian Metallurgical Plant), as well as reduction of operating costs on supporting existing functional solutions of EVRAZ NTMK due to their unification and optimization.
The project included implementation of the MM, WMS, QM, LE, FI functionality and the alignment of IT solutions together with the business process owners of EVRAZ enterprises in terms of logistics, primary accounting, finance, inventory management and warehouse management.
EVRAZ is a vertically integrated steel and mining company with assets in Russia, USA, Canada, Czech Republic, and Kazakhstan and is one of the largest steel producers in the world. One of the company’s success factors is the development of assets, introduction of new technologies and cost reduction, ensuring strong leadership.

Due to the successful implementation of the project, today the users EVRAZ NTMK work in a unified SAP ERP EVRAZ system landscape which benefits production efficiency. EvrazHolding and the ITPS Group of Companies continue cooperation on the transfer of the SAP ERP system into a unified SAP ERP EVRAZ landscape at the next enterprise – West Siberian Metallurgical Plant.
