ITPS presented advanced approaches towards energy efficiency, optimization of maintenance and repairs, and organization of effective enterprise management at SEYMARTEC DIGITAL. AUTOMATION OF MINING AND METALLURGICAL PRODUCTION – 2020/21, which took place in Chelyabinsk on April 14, 2021. This was one of the significant business events of the industry, dedicated to the innovative development of metallurgy in the light of the current economic agenda, as well as cases and new developments in the field of digital production.
Participants from the major industrial enterprises and holdings: Severstal, EVRAZ, Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company, Novolipetsk Steel Company, Metalloinvest, Norilsk Nickel, RUSAL, Gold of the Northern Urals (Polymetal), et al., attended the event. The expo became an interactive platform for communication between the interested industry professionals and suppliers of equipment and applied software, and complex digital solutions.
The most considerable value of the event was the opportunity to hold face-to-face B2B meetings, where market participants were able to present their practical experience and case studies to potential customers. According to ITPS experts, there is interest on the part of mining and processing plants in terms of energy efficiency (reducing idle losses), switching to a predictive model for maintenance and repair (MRO) processes, as well as introducing process analytics tools based on high-performance platforms for real-time data processing.
“Starting a dialogue with market representatives, we offer the best experience in optimizing production by streamlining processes and data, bringing the final result. In mining and processing industries, where the volume of components or finished products is measured in millions of rubles, increasing efficiency at any stage of the technological chain, even by a few percent, brings in considerable savings. In particular, the optimization of MRO allows reducing the costs of materials and equipment and services by 9-12%, labor costs for putting in equipment operation data into the control system by 40-50%, increase equipment availability by 13-15%, and product output by 10-12%,” stated Dmitrii Romanov, Digital Production Director at the ITPS Group of Companies.
According to the expert, enterprises with a high level of technological maturity, i.e., with developed infrastructure, CAPCS, and IPMS tools, have even greater opportunities for growth in the age of digital control. By integrating production data from various sources, analyzing its dynamics, and identifying patterns, an enterprise can manage events based on highly accurate forecasts. This makes it possible to exclude man-made risks and maintain the optimal level of production, flexibly and quickly adjust implementation of plans, taking into account regimes correlation and equipment operating time, characteristics of raw materials, and all other factors affecting the cost of the final product.
