Time for Digital Change. ITPS is Going to Build Complex SAP Based Systems in Uzbekistan

14.07.2020

2020 in Uzbekistan was declared the “Year of Science, Education, and Digital Economy Development”. This fully reflects the serious intentions of the republic to achieve fast digitalization of all industries. The threat of COVID-19 and quarantine measures has not reduced the overall project activity of companies: on the contrary, it has boosted the processes for creating the foundation for future technological transformations. The main distinguishing feature of the upcoming changes is that Uzbek industry is gradually changing its approaches to production management and is moving away from selective automation of individual processes (management of inventory, MRO, finance, logistics, procurement, etc.). Instead it is moving towards the creation of integrated systems combining processes and data in production, laboratory and other areas of business.

ITPS has been operating in the Uzbek market for over 12 years and is an active participant in the digital transformation processes in the region. The company implemented some successful projects at technically complex facilities of the Kandym group of activities, South-West Gissar, and others. Currently, ITPS is working on several new projects aimed at introducing integrated systems for oil and gas and industrial companies. The solutions have been developed based on SAP products, being the most effective tools in their segment.

As a certified SAP partner, ITPS continuously develops the functionality of its solutions and offers more and more new opportunities for managing a modern enterprise to its customers. Participation in the partnership program allows increasing the level of competencies, reduces project implementation timelines and offers a wide range of tools to implement the required functionality. Today the company has ready-made solutions for capital construction, logistics management, cost calculation and tax accounting. It has developed unique competencies in the field of integration with operational management systems at the level of Integrated Operations Centers (ICO), etc. Tens of thousands of users work in these implemented systems.

The most popular areas are procurement automation, master data and MRO management. ITPS has a client whose number of repairs per single piece of equipment has decreased by more than 28%, which made it possible to save about a million US dollars in two years. The number of unscheduled repairs at the time of the analysis was reduced by 46% due to the ability to make reliable forecasts and proactively respond to incidents. The introduction of such systems at oil and gas enterprises allows reduction of unplanned equipment downtime by 5-15%, repair costs by 3-7% and repair service labor costs by 3-10%. In terms of procurement decisions, the key business effect is to reduce procurement costs by 8-14% through use of an integrated solution for strategic selection of suppliers and faster execution of routine procedures.

“Development of digital technologies will soon change the industry of Uzbekistan beyond recognition. There are numerous growth possibilities here: at some it is necessary to improve the ICT infrastructure, at others to ensure a sufficient level of automation, additional examination, installation of sensors, etc. All this will allow implementing the best business opportunities and world practices in the near future: starting from effective management of MRO, finances, procurement, logistics, master data and other aspects of production, and eventually creation of a full-fledged digital enterprise, where production lines automatically come to optimal modes in order to save costs and fulfil production plans. The high level of IT competencies and the unique project experience of our team allow us to guarantee high quality services in any economic conditions. Even with the existing constraints, we work actively and continue to implement projects, including remote ones. I would like to note that we are not just introducing technologies and tools: we are following a path of mutually beneficial partnership by creating competence centers at the enterprises of Uzbekistan and transferring best practices from hand to hand,” said Anatoliy Makarov, Manager ITPS.
