On October 31, with participation of the head of the Perm Territory, Maksim Reshetnikov a Strategic Session was held on IT cluster development in the Perm Territory. Also in attendance at the Session were the Minister of Information Development and Communications for the Perm Territory, Pavel Shevyrov, the Minister of Education and Science for the Perm Territory, Raisa Kassina, the First Deputy Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Elena Dyagtereva, along with more than 60 representatives from leading Perm IT companies, government authorities, industrial enterprises and universities.
Business support measures for IT industry companies, promising areas in IT, and human resources development were the key focusses of the meeting.
According to Maksim Reshetnikov – Governor for the Perm Territory – the region’s main goal is to become a beacon for development of the Digital Economy in Russia: "The objective of the strategic session is to listen to each other and put in place effective tools and measures to support the IT industry".
The four groups’ work resulted in projects and proposals for areas such as state support for the IT industry, personnel training aimed at implementation of the Digital Economy program, IT production, "Smart City" and the "Internet of Things".
