Experts of the ITPS Group of Companies presented innovative approaches to digitalizing mining enterprises at the VI International Forum SEYMARTEC MINING. MINING PRODUCTION EFFICIENCY – 2022, held in Chelyabinsk on June 27-29, 2022. This is one of the significant business events where the prospects for the mining industry, construction of new and development of existing mines, issues related to industrial and environmental safety, and innovative technologies that improve the economic efficiency of enterprises are discussed. Traditionally, top managers of the largest companies and holdings are invited to participate: EVRAZ, NLMK, Severstal, and Nornickel. Ural Mining Metallurgical Company, United Metallurgical Company, Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling Plant, etc.

The event's principal value for developers and integrators of industry-specific IT solutions is the opportunity to organize face-to-face B2B meetings with the participation of representatives of key industry companies. The main interest of mining companies is focused on the creation of unified production data warehouses, which in turn serve as a foundation for further improvements - the implementation of production management systems (IPMS, MES), corporate information systems (CIS), maintenance and repair management systems (MRO), etc. This allows companies to move from pinpoint automation to qualitatively new production and business management models based on process analytics.

ITPS experts presented the case at the event for creating a unified data warehouse tailored to the industry specifics. The project's final objective is to introduce a technological basis for implementing the concept of a digital plant, which implies continuous monitoring of production parameters. The data becomes clear and transparent for various users – from an engineer to the board of directors. The approach provides an opportunity to analyze the mining enterprise's work, compare the plan and the fact, and make operational management decisions.

"Right now, mining enterprises are at a crossroads. On the one hand, they demonstrate quite a high level of automation, which applies not only to operational processes but also to digital systems at the mine level: management of transport, production equipment, energy efficiency, etc. All of these factors set the stage for optimization. On the other hand, many companies lack a systematic view of how production and business processes should be built; they lack cohesion and centralized management. The human factor continues to influence the business, and the lack of tools for management to regularly receive reliable information about what is happening at the enterprise. This is especially true for enterprises with a distributed organizational structure. We see the solution to the problem in creating process analytics systems to improve the efficiency of mining production management," comments Director of Digital Production at ITPS, Dmitrii Romanov.
