The ITPS developers have created a module for adapting model components for the SYNAPSE software package

04.10.2022

The ITPS Group of Companies receives a certificate for the state registration of the module for adapting model components for the software package SYNAPSE. The new development dramatically expands the possibilities of working with integrated models of oil and gas fields and enables the automation of a number of labor-intensive processes. In conjunction with the modules for creating, configuring, and updating models, the fitting module enables faster filling of the model components with field data continuously supplied from the field: geophysical data, information on technological modes of operation of wells, the results of measurements and studies carried out in the area.

The SYNAPSE software package is a module of the Russian AVIST Oil&Gas platform (both solutions are developed by the ITPS Group of Companies), which is used for production capacity management using integrated geological and technological modeling technology. According to the developers, these tools are optimally combined with various special software for integrated simulation from leading providers. Currently, SYNAPSE is used in many ITPS projects to create and run integrated models and digital twins of fields.

“In our day-to-day business, we simulate hundreds of sites in the largest fields and field groups and process vast amounts of field data, which is loaded into component models and used as reference material for analyzing and elaborating different production scenarios. For data to be relevant and reliable, it must be systematically updated and corrected, and to do this work by hand is an impossible task. We solve the problem with the help of special tools, including a new development – the module for adapting model components. With its help, we can free ourselves from routine operations and massively update data according to proven algorithms whose patterns we have developed over years of practice. As a result, the productivity of simulation specialists increases by 2.5 times and the production volume of the fund by 1-2%, as effective management decisions are made based on calculations of the integrated model," says Anton Ovchinnikov, Head of the ITPS Integrated Modelling Department.
