Personal and preventive approach. BIOT team presented the future of digital medicine to young physicians

27.06.2022

Specialists of the ITPS Digital Solutions Center, developers and operators of the innovative BIOT service (remote monitoring of human health indicators for early detection of diseases) took part in the joint conference of the International Medical Cluster Foundation and MedInvestGroup "Career opportunities for a doctor: clinical practice and beyond." The event, held on June 22, 2022, at the Skolkovo Innovation Center, was intended for medical students, interns, emerging scientists, and physicians. In their reports, the speakers raised issues related to the career and scientific growth of medical practitioners. They mentioned the most popular competencies and new technologies that improve the quality of medical services.

Finalists of the MedLab Innovation Lab accelerator program, including a BIOT development team, presented their technological innovations. The experts shared their practical experience of using this service as an additional tool for the attending physician to continuously monitor changes in a patient's health parameters and, if necessary, adjust the treatment plan. The report cited such advantages of the approach as early detection of health risks, psychological support, motivation (the patient is better able to follow recommendations knowing that the doctor is ‘in touch’), convenience, and practicality.

"Preventive medicine technologies are constantly evolving and affecting the very role of the treating physician. The modern approach not only deals with symptoms but also builds a complete picture of the patient's health and habits, applying it as part of a comprehensive, personalized approach to treatment and prevention. The BIOT digital service plays a crucial role in this model, creating direct communication between physician and patient. Smart algorithms and analytical capabilities of the service will help to proactively identify risks and more accurately influence the causes of diseases. Therefore, we strive to introduce young doctors to promising monitoring and analytics tools that are already gradually being integrated into everyday medical practice," emphasized Dmitrii Tachkin, Head of the ITPS Center for Digital Solutions.

The BIOT digital service is a medical decision support system that remotely collects and analyzes a person's health indicators from a wearable device. The BIOT service is easy to use. A person can lead an everyday life and at the same time be under the supervision of a qualified physician, who will receive information from the wristband and be able to warn the person about the risks to their health and, if necessary, suggest additional examinations and medical recommendations.
