ITPS Group participated in the Strategic Session on IT Cluster Development in the Perm Territory

On October 31, with participation of the head of the Perm Territory, Maksim Reshetnikov a Strategic Session was held on IT cluster development in the Perm Territory. Also in attendance at the Session were the Minister of Information Development and Communications for the Perm Territory, Pavel Shevyrov, the Minister of Education and Science for the Perm Territory, Raisa Kassina, the First Deputy Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, Elena Dyagtereva, along with more than 60 representatives from leading Perm IT companies, government authorities, industrial enterprises and universities.

Business support measures for IT industry companies, promising areas in IT, and human resources development were the key focusses of the meeting.

According to Maksim Reshetnikov – Governor for the Perm Territory – the region’s main goal is to become a beacon for development of the Digital Economy in Russia: "The objective of the strategic session is to listen to each other and put in place effective tools and measures to support the IT industry".

The four groups’ work resulted in projects and proposals for areas such as state support for the IT industry, personnel training aimed at implementation of the Digital Economy program, IT production, "Smart City" and the "Internet of Things".

Leonid I. Tikhomirov presented the results of the "Smart City"/"Internet of Things" working group, along with an overview of their main initiatives as follows:

• Creation of an effective platform and infrastructure for interaction and promotion of IT companies in the region.
• Creation of a regional competence centre dedicated to several areas: Digital Production, Digitalization in the Oil Industry, Digital Healthcare, Digital Government, etc.
• Developing an approach for formation of a "Smart City" and Digital Production and implementing it within the Perm Territory, as an example to be rolled out across the whole country.
