A project by Enforta and ITPS won the "Top 10 IT Projects for the Oil & Gas Industry" competition

18.09.2017

The joint project by Enforta and the ITPS group of companies “Volgodeminoil well digitalization on the basis of the IoT environment using LoRaWAN technology and the AVIST digital production platform" was recognized as the best in the "Implementation in the field of the industrial Internet of Things (IIoT)" nomination category. “The Top 10 IT Projects for the Oil & Gas Industry" competition was held under the auspices of the III Federal IT Forum of the Russia Oil & Gas Industry, organized by the ComNews information group and the company ITSK (Information Technology Services Company), in conjunction with Gazprom Neft as the event’s general partner.

Kirill Poroshin, Director of Sales from the Oil & Gas Industry from ER-Telecom Holding JSC, made a speech at the award ceremony. "I am grateful to the Volgodeminoil team for enabling the implementation of this project and for assisting ITPS group of companies in the implementation process. It is vital to increase the efficiency and security of production assets. Tomorrow requires new technological solutions, and we are happy to work in this direction and offer the most state-of-the-art of them," Poroshin said.

The well digitalization project is implemented with the aim of increasing the level of production and operational safety at facilities thanks to real-time remote monitoring of process parameters.

 The implemented solution comprises the following:

  • Data transmission medium – a wireless data network created by Enforta based on LoRaWAN technology;
  • Cloud platform for the Industrial Internet of Things and AVIST digital production (Asset Virtualization System) by the ITPS group of companies;
  • Consolidated production reporting system, implemented by ITPS.

Process parameters from sensors installed at production facilities are transferred wirelessly to the AVIST cloud platform for data processing and remote monitoring of production processes. The data transmission medium created at the asset has a long operational range (up to 20 km on an open terrain), high signal penetration capabilities, stability and confidentiality of the communication channel, low power consumption of sensors (up to 10 years’ operation time without recharging), and low equipment costs.

AVIST analyses well parameters in real-time mode (pressure, temperature, load, insulation resistance, etc.) and with the help of analytical signal filtering rules, it identifies events that can have a critical impact on key production processes. AVIST enables losses and downtime to be reduced thanks to proactive monitoring of equipment parameters, prompt and competent response at the stage of identifying an incident’s likelihood (response scenarios in case of various incidents are configured within the system).

The consolidated production reporting system creates reports on the main well parameters, which are provided to users in the form of infographics on computers/tablets/smartphones. Summary reports contain information on losses for the current day, actual and forecast data for monthly production, etc.
