Customizing and supporting an oil and gas asset management system

Project Objectives

  1. Perform regular monitoring of the oil and gas asset management system
  2. Add users to a consolidated pool of resources
  3. Consultations with users of the oil and gas asset management system, including initial consultation on the use of the information system
  4. Provide methodical support to users of business processes and consulting on procedures of the oil and gas asset management system

The Karakuduk field developed by KarakudukMunai, LLP (ChinaSinopec) is 365km north-east from Aktau (Kazakhstan). Oil was first discovered in this field by Soviet exploration geologists in 1972, but commercial development started only in 1998. Five years’ later in 2003, oil output had reached one million tons.  In May 2010, cumulative oil production stood at 7m tons. To achieve higher results, the project required implementation of advanced technologies both in terms of IT systems and infrastructure. ITPS Group became a strategic partner which was responsible for implementing and supporting corporate project management systems, ERP systems, MES and PCS, and providing IT services.
