ITPS Group of Companies has completed work under a grant from the Foundation for Assistance to Innovation to create a system for assessing the development of cardiometabolic risk (including the risk of cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes). The system is designed to improve the BIOT digital service based on artificial intelligence technology and continuous remote monitoring of health indicators.
The research under the project involved volunteers - people between the ages of 23 and 64 with no history of chronic disease and people with risk factors such as excess weight or obesity, high blood pressure, smoking or negative family history, as well as people diagnosed with diabetes mellitus.
The project results brought the accuracy of cardiometabolic risk assessment by BIOT system to the level of more than 90%, which is quite comparable with standard diagnostic methods, and the accuracy of heart rate detection by the wristband was confirmed to be above 95%. Over the course of two years, the grant work also included refining a mobile application for the service's customers.
"The project has created technology that can automatically determine the risk level of cardiovascular disease and diabetes, which is helpful to doctors. The BIOT system tracks changes over time, showing whether health parameters are improving or deteriorating. This gives health care providers the ability to make timely adjustments to treatment and prevention methods, and gives patients the opportunity to make changes to their lifestyles. Comprehensive research and development under the project is focused on promoting active lifestyle, and improving the quality and duration of life," mentioned Head of the ITPS Digital Solutions Center Dmitrii Tachkin.
