Digital Twin of the Urmano-Archinskaya Group of Fields Named the Best Digital Solution for Oil & Gas industry in the Smart Oil & Gas 2021 Contest

07.10.2021

Gazpromneft-Vostok and the ITPS Group of Companies won the annual contest "Best Digital Solutions for Oil & Gas Industry." The award for creating a digital twin of the Urmano-Archinskaya group of fields was presented in the special category "The Best Digital Solution in the Oil and Gas Industry."  The award ceremony was one of the main events of the first day of the 7th Federal IT-Forum of Oil & Gas Industry of Russia "Smart Oil & Gas: Reliable Data" held in St. Petersburg on September 30 - October 1, 2021.

Oil and gas companies are actively introducing new tools for efficient production management based on integrated models, artificial intelligence technologies, and big-data management platforms. Earlier this year, Gazpromneft-Vostok rolled out a digital twin of the Urmano-Archinskaya group of fields, which integrates reservoir and well models and models of infrastructure facilities. The innovative system created in partnership with ITPS helps increase the efficiency of production stock, oil gathering, and treatment system and makes it possible to generate detailed forecasts in management facilities. In the long term, the digital twin will ensure stable growth of the asset's economic indicators by applying the most favorable production scenarios.

"Digital twins are the primary tool for creating additional value for the Production Management Center. We strive to improve production efficiency and unlock the potential of oil and gas condensate fields. The introduction of full-scale integrated models is an important step to reaching our goal. As part of cooperation with the ITPS group of companies, we managed to implement a project of this scale for the first time in a complex field with a significant number of wells. We are currently planning several projects involving digital twin technology in other fields developed by our company," said Dmitrii Yarchinskiy, Operations Director at Gazpromneft-Vostok.

"The Smart Field concept is becoming increasingly relevant to companies that plan for the future. In an environment where numerous factors influence production economics, such as the geological structure of reservoirs, characteristics of the produced fluid, level of technical equipment of the stock, infrastructure facilities, and more, a digital tool to manage models, process modes, and data becomes essential. It is particularly valuable for us that our partner Gazpromneft-Vostok is committed to introducing our domestic digital solutions helping to unlock the unique capabilities of advanced technologies fully and quickly achieve the business effects we need," stressed Leonid Tikhomirov, CEO of the ITPS Group of Companies.
