The innovative approach of the ITPS Group of Companies to ensuring occupational health and safety of employees in Oil & Gas companies was highly appreciated by members of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), a non-profit international association that brings together more than 156,000 oil & gas engineers from 154 countries. A unique concept of monitoring and analysis of employee physiological parameters based on personal wearable devices was presented at the SPE Russian Oil & Gas Technical Conference, held in Moscow on October 22-24, 2019.

SPE Russian Oil & Gas Technical Conference is a milestone event for more than 850 oil and gas industry professionals from 20 countries. Most of them are experts of international standing. The program committee begins by selecting topics for reports 9 months before the event, giving preference to innovative ideas of scientific and practical value. All conference reports are published in the largest exploration and production digital library, OnePetro®*. This reputable source collates the most advanced engineering achievements, which largely determine the further innovative development of the entire oil and gas industry.

“It is a great honor for us to participate in an event of such caliber. It cannot be overemphasized that in the here and now, new approaches and methods are being developed that will shape the technologies of the future. Here at the conference, we met many like-minded people who were able to appreciate the significance of our development, the effectiveness of digital models for assessing human health, the enormous social benefits of this solution, as well as the significant economic effects of its implementation. Labor health and safety today is one of the most critical factors affecting the success of major industrial companies, as human capital is the main value of any enterprise”, noted Dmitri Tachkin, Head of the Digital Solutions Center at ITPS.

The new innovative approach of ITPS to assess and control personnel health risks based on information received from wearable personal devices, is based on an innovative method of implementing the Industrial Internet of Things concept, artificial intelligence systems, geographic systems in the area of labor protection and industrial health and safety. It is proposed that valuable additional information on the actual condition of personnel be incorporated into the production decision-making process, as a means of increasing production efficiency.
