Smart business. ITPS report at SAP Forum 2019

08.05.2019

An ITPS team of experts took part in two major annual events hosted by SAP – the world leader in the corporate applications market. The SAP Moscow business forum was held at the Moscow Exhibition Center on April 17, 2019 and brought together over 6,000 participants representing over 1,000 companies and 27 market industries. And already on April 25 the SAP Forum in Tashkent attracted representatives from more than 200 companies across 15 different industries. For years, SAP have been very popular in the professional community and serve as a communication platform to discuss the best global practices in the field of digital transformation.

The main topic of this year’s SAP Forum was the concept “Smart business” the basis of which is to create intellectual ecosystems and automation of all company IT-processes. The approach allows a company to focus on core tasks, increase productivity (therefore, profit level) and to reduce expenses. The same idea also underpins the ITPS business, a longtime partner of SAP in the field of implementation of big infrastructure projects. A recent case was creation of an international financial reporting system (IFRS standards) (SIP accounting) for PJSC Lukoil, which was presented to participants of the Forum in Tashkent.

The ITPS Director for implementation and development of corporate information systems Dmitri Fedorychev emphasized the practical benefits that result from the project in his report. The design expert team has a task of developing and implementing an integrated solution for collection and storage of information of the parent company and all subsidiaries of Lukoil Group (over 100 enterprises) under a unified IT-environment. Previously, the customer used the OSSBO system without the possibility of being able to modernize it. Part of the key objectives (for example, information input and formation of a final report) was conducted manually by users.

The solution on the basis of the high performance platform SAP HANA allowed the speed of reporting generation to be increased and the quality - improved by automation of data gathering, inspection of parameters during data input and access to archived data. The number of errors was decreased tenfold. Due to the standard technical capabilities of SAP HANA, workflow speed has tripled.

“A business, just like a human being, can enhance its intelligence by accumulating experience and knowledge. We have been implementing solutions based on SAP products for industrial companies in Russia and the CIS for more than 15 years. During this time, we have built up a large portfolio of projects, including work with the new-generation platform SAP S4/HANA. We are glad to tell you about this experience in Russia and, what is most important, here in Uzbekistan – a region with a growing industrial sector and a lively interest in the digitalization of enterprises. We have been working on the Uzbekistan market since 2007 and we have been pioneers in the implementation of SAP solutions for Uzbek companies. The successful experience of SIP-accounting implementation in PJSC Lukoil can be replicated at any production and achieve rapid economic benefits by automating routine IT processes”, stated Dmitri Fedorychev.

The SAP S/4HANA (SAP HANA) platform is based on advanced in-memory technology and is recognized as the best in its segment. In 2018, an ITPS project on implementation of SIP-accounting at PJSC Lukoil was declared the winner of the Хth All-Russian Competition for the “Top 10 IT projects in the oil and gas industry” under the nomination “The best app based on SAP HANA. For the customer, it was the first project, implemented on this platform.
