Summary of Joint Webinar of ITPS and OSIsoft

More than 60 specialists took part in the first joint webinar of ITPS and OSIsoft Russia “Building MES System at a Major Oil Company”, held on September 15, 2015. The webinar audience was formed by representatives of Gazpromneft, Slavneft, LUKOIL, NOVATEK, Enel Russia, KazMunaiGaz, Accenture, Rosneft, Total, Kazanorgsintez and other companies, as well as the Russian State University of Oil and Gas named after I.M. Gubkin, PH Nedra.

The webinar programme comprised three reports: “PI System Application in Oil and Gas Production”, “MES. Experience of Implementation at West Qurna - 2”, and “Real-Time Enterprise Management: from Event to Decision Making”.

Webinar participants studied cases of successful implementation of the production automation project, new tools used as part of the project, and production process performance indicators achieved through implementation of intellectual asset components.

Aleksandr Yakovlev, an expert from the ITPS Group (LLC Parma-Telecom):

“It is difficult to overestimate the importance of MES systems for the fuel and energy sector. Modern data processing technologies enable not only assessment of the state of production facilities, failure forecasting, and prioritization of service operations, but also CAPEX adjustment through deep integration in the IT infrastructure of the enterprise, its accounting and analytic systems in the real-time mode.”

Alexey Solomin, IT analyst for production systems of the Business Application Office, IT Department, LUKOIL Overseas:

“Since the commencement of oil production at the field in March 2014, LUKOIL Overseas has had an opportunity of continuous data collection and analysis. This has enabled the company to build an effective asset management system, take timely and operative decisions based on relevant data, and reduce costs for technical maintenance of assets and build a system of mid-term and long-term planning. All this has contributed to a significant improvement of production process performance at West Qurna -2.”
