Field Operating Efficiency Improvement Using Technologies of Integrated Modeling

Project Objectives

  1. Long-term forecast of field development, using the example of the integrated model in the scope «Formation-Well-Collection System and Formation Pressure Maintenance System»;

  2. Process equipment operation mode optimization;

  3. Assessment of poweruse efficiency, possibility and potential of power saving and working out of recommendations on power saving in the power supply system of the oil field on the base of the model.

Implementation

An integrated model is developed and implemented, which consists of:

  • approx. 300 models of production and injection wells of the formation model (3 development targets);
  • models of the collection system and formation pressure maintenance system (about 500 pipelines).
The following processes are automated:
  • Updating of wells, collection and transportation system, the formation pressure maintenance system;
  • Monitoring of the current state of wells and surface facilities;
  • Formation of the outlined operating practices of production and injection wells on the base of the model, taking into account of cross impact of system elements surface facilities;
  • Selection of subsurface pumping equipment on the base of the model, taking into account the cross impacts.

Result

Calculated cumulative economic effect from implementation of integrated modeling tools at the filed for 2 years amounted to + $ 16.7 million

  1. Long-term forecast of field development till 2022 is was calculated taking into account the effects from geological and engineering actions and administrative and technical measures;

  2. An optimal plan of geological and engineering actions and administrative and technical measures was formed, the efficiency of which is estimated on the base of the integrated model, is worked out;

  3. For a part of producing well stock, it is recommended to replace electrical centrifugal pumps with the optimum pump rating or adjust their frequency;

  4. Need in reservoir area expansion was revealed (upgrading work was performed);

  5. Restricted flow areas were revealed in flow lines and wellhead connections of some producing wells, which were eliminated as the result of reservoir revision and cleaning;

  6. Power supply and consumption system is audited and analyzed using calculation complex RasrtWin. According to the results, places of technical power loss and proposed measures aimed at power loss reduction were revealed.
