Data and processes in full view. ITPS has created single window modules for efficient maintenance and repair management based on SAP ERP (S/4HANA)

The Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent) has registered two new developments of the ITPS Group of Companies. They are the functional modules: ‘Information Center for MRO Management Assets’ and ‘Information Center for MRO Management’. This will help significantly to simplify and speed up the processes of organizing and planning maintenance and repairs at the enterprise. It can reduce labor costs for routine operations in SAP ERP (S/4HANA) and reduce the time needed to make efficient management decisions.

Implementation of efficient MRO management strategies based on digital tools is one of the key components of the Intelligent Field and Digital Manufacturing concepts. ITPS developed its Maintenance and repair solution based on the SAP ERP platform. It covers all types and forms of work organization and takes into account the data of MES and other enterprise systems (economic planning and budgeting, accounting, logistics, investment management, etc.). It promptly generates accurate analytics, significantly reducing the time and cost of implementing various functions. The effects are demonstrated in cost optimization, increased service efficiency, reduced numbers of accidents, and equipment downtime. The solution is successfully applied in the oil and gas sector, metallurgy, chemical and petrochemical industries, transport, mechanical engineering, fuel and energy enterprises, etc.

ITPS has successfully implemented projects with this solution for KazMunayGas JSC, Belkamneft JSC and a number of other oil-producing and petrochemical companies.

In order to increase the efficiency of its solution, ITPS developed additional software tools. The ‘Information Center for MRO Management Assets’ functional module allows optimal management of the digital asset model (electronic passports for equipment). In the oil and gas sector, it includes centralized maintenance of electronic passports for wells, pumping equipment, pipelines; in metallurgy: furnaces, rolling mills, etc. In other industries: pumping units, compressors, vessels, boilers or any other equipment, depending on the production. The module aggregates information from various sources: data on equipment relocation, purchasing requests for services, actual condition of equipment monitoring results, plans, registers, operation sheets and manuals, etc. The users work with all the data in a single window. Everything that is required to manage the asset is displayed on the screen; actions can be taken both in relation to one asset and to a group of assets. This significantly reduces the time spent on performing routine operations.

The ‘Information Center for MRO Management’ module works in a similar way, allowing flexible management of the processes of calendar scheduling and resource planning for maintenance and repair of equipment, both on a long-term and a short-term horizon. To accomplish these tasks, the module ensures the ability to launch and execute a large number of different commands (programs) and application programs. These support the business processes of maintenance and repair management in the system and perform a defined, logically complete, set of actions with the data. The tool can be used by an enterprise to simulate execution of various management decisions in the field of maintenance and repair, assess their impact on the economic efficiency of an asset and choose the most profitable service strategies.

“The purpose of ITPS as a developer of innovative digital solutions is not only to create new management models, but also to continue developing the tools currently widely used by enterprises. SAP products have enormous capabilities for building effective management systems, but these are not always obvious and used to the full, since they require profound knowledge of architecture and features of the SAP system. The tools we presented are designed to significantly increase efficiency in using all the capabilities of the SAP system. As a result, they can increase efficiency of the maintenance and repair management system at enterprises that have already implemented and are currently using advanced approaches to MRO management based on SAP ERP (S/4HANA). Such enterprises have an extensive fleet of equipment, numbering tens of thousands of service facilities, and huge amounts of data. The value of this data is proportional to its accuracy, relevance and suitability for processing and analysis. The software modules mentioned above will help making the management of this colossal amount of data extremely simple and accessible from anywhere in the world, both for experts and for the management,” explained Dmitri Fedorochev, Director for Implementation and Development of Corporate Information Systems at the ITPS Group of Companies.
